Javea Culture
Located about 90 kms north of Alicante and 100 kms from Valencia, lies the town of Javea rich in culture, local traditions and fiestas which are steeped in history and celebrated for all to see. ![]()
Javea has had a thriving band since the 1960’s and as a result this quiet little fishing village has become twinned with the French town of Thiviers.
A Valencian painter Joanquin Sorolla Bastida 1863 – 1923 made Javea his home at the turn of the century this famous painter has depicted life in Javea, the local colour and hard work of the locals fishing, drying the grapes and living each day to the full have been captured forever through his works.
